J R "Tinman" Tofte United States Navy Vet, and creator of
VDO, Veterans Day Out a successful Veterans’ Day Out project that has become its
own entity under the American legion post’s umbrella of programs.The first
event was in April, 2013 when 21 veterans were escorted by about 50 American
Legion Riders from the Veterans Administration hospital in Loma Linda Ca. to San
Jacinto to enjoy a barbecue lunch and social
activities. JR's father, Donald Tofte, is a Korean War combat veteran who
served in the Army.
