Gordon Martines Candidate for Clark County NV Sheriff , He has spent the past 39 years as a detective in the Las Vegas MPD, 15 of which he spent as a detective in the Robbery & Homicide Division. When he saw corruption, police force and unsolved murders, rather than walking away from it, he fought it head on by filing a Federal lawsuit in 2011. Gordon also spent numerous years as a patrol and motorcycle officer. In 1986 a drunk driver collided head on with Gordon’s motorcycle. Due to injuries from the accident He had to undergo numerous surgeries and did not return to his job for eighteen months. Gordon has graduated from two police academies and is a certified instructor of first responders to terrorist bombings. He served as the President of the Injured Police Officers Fund for eight years. In 1993 co-founded and became the Senior President of STOP DUI and in 1996 received ”The Debbie Lingner Courage Award” which is STOP DUI’s most prestigious award.
