Yancy Caruthers served 20 years in the U.S. Army Reserves as an Army medic and trauma nurse saving wounded soldiers from death in critical condition. The Army called upon him three times to serve – once to Ft. Riley, KS and twice to Iraq.  After his military career, he served his country as a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State in assignments to Lima, Peru and Nassau, The Bahamas.  He claims to be retired, but stays busy writing and supporting veterans causes.  He is the author of Northwest of Eden, a memoir about his experience as the second-in-command of an Army Emergency Department during the Iraq War.
